PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide daily support and assistance for clients undertaking residential treatment and therapy with Abbington House.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Greeting and inducting new clients, ensuring they feel welcomed and informed about the therapy process and schedule.
- Conducting patient observations, assessments, and random testing as per detox protocols.
- Supporting clients to and from group sessions, ensuring punctuality and preparedness.
- Preparing and maintaining client care records, educational materials, and welcome packs.
- Engaging with clients in communal areas, addressing their practical and welfare needs.
- Assisting clients throughout their journey, providing encouragement and addressing queries.
- Facilitating recovery groups, providing feedback on step papers, and support clients’ understanding.
- Promoting and explaining extended therapy packages and aftercare services to clients.
Expected hours: No more than 16 per week
We would like the applicant to:
- Have previous experience in Adult care: 1 year (required)
- Be caring and empathic.
- Be able to work with autonomy to care for clients.
- Have basic knowledge of Medication Administration policy and procedure.
- Be committed to helping clients achieve a better sense of themselves.
- Have a tolerant and loving attitude towards clients with addiction issues.
- Have personal experience with addiction, either personally or through a loved one (preferred).
- Hold a valid Driving Licence (preferred)
