What does this Chef Manager job involve?

 

  • Providing homely meals for our residents, meeting a wide range of dietary requirements.
  • Planning staff rotas that are appropriate for the kitchen workload and arranging cover for planned absences, using existing and casual staff.
  • Organising every aspect of the catering operation to provide a safe, nutritious, cost effective and quality catering service to all customers.
  • Ensuring all statutory training takes place.
  • Ensuring regular stocktakes occur and that stock levels are maintained.
  • Communicating with all customers on a regular basis.
  • Managing the catering budget and producing monthly financial information relating to performance.

We are looking for someone that:

  • Has a good knowlege of Health and Safety practices in the workplace.
  • Has a Food Hygiene Certificate and the desire and ability to develop new skills.
  • Has a general awareness of Health and Safety legislation, safe food handling and hygiene regulations.
  • Has experience of planning menus, food preparation and staff management.
  • Is experienced in the use of industrial kitchen equipment.
  • Is able to work well as part of a team and has good communication skills.
