St Elizabeth's Centre is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist for our Supported Living & Day Opportunities Service in Much Hadham.

 

St Elizabeth’s exists to offer vulnerable people individually designed education, care and support services that maximise their opportunities to “live life to the full”.

 

Based across 60 acres of beautiful countryside, St Elizabeth's is a charity supporting clients with learning disabilities, epilepsy and other complex medical conditions, the severity of which impacts upon their health, social, behaviour, learning and emotional development.

Over the past 120 years, St Elizabeth's has grown and developed to comprise a non-maintained Specialist School for both boarders and day students, a specialist Further Education College domiciliary care for College learners, Supported Living both onsite and in the local community, a comprehensive Day Opportunities programme for adult day clients and 24 hour health provision provided by specialist nurses and therapists.

What does this Speech and Language Therapist job involve?

 

We are seeking an organised and compassionate Speech & Language Therapist to join our therapy team. It is an exciting time to join St Elizabeth’s as we look to grow our offer and increase our admissions for 2024 and beyond. You will become part of a dedicated and talented multi-disciplinary team of staff, committed to supporting service users to develop and flourish in spite of their communication difficulties.

We are looking for someone who can:

 

  • Maintain a positive approach and demonstrate excellent professional skills.
  • Understand and address potential communication and dysphagia challenges.
  • Utilize knowledge of assessment tools effectively.
  • Implement a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Support clients with diverse needs, including Learning Disabilities (LD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and epilepsy.
