Auburn Mere is 35 bedded medium size Care home at the outskirts of Watford that provides Residential and dementia care.
We are seeking a Deputy Manager to work alongside the current Deputy Manager- who understands the importance of ensuring that the physical, emotional and psychological needs of the residents are met in a person-centred way.

The job is a permanent position of 40 hours per week. This includes every other weekend, 6 hrs admin and one night shift per week.
As a Deputy Manager at our home, your role will involve:
- Ensure compliance with Risk Management and Health and Safety regulations
- Supervise team members in providing high quality care to service users, ensuring the policies and procedures are followed
- Manage safe staffing levels
- Motivate and act as a role model within the team
- Set and monitor standards of care and participate in quality improvement
- Developing and implementing person centred care plans for the service users – Audit medication compliance and contribute to effective home auditing.
- Work with the Manager to maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents
- Seeking feedback from residents and relatives about their experience within the home and address concerns
- Ensuring cleanliness is maintained at a very high standard
- Conducting pre-assessment for new residents and ensuring new admission procedures are completed
- On-Call – (two weekends a month)
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Prior care home experience as a deputy Manager is essential
- Excellent IT skills are required
- Participation in continuous professional development
SKILLS / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
- NVQ Level 3 or above, or equivalent
