About the Company


This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in a  26-year-old young man's life. Our small team will be dedicated to providing a high standard to care to allow him to live independently in his own flat and have a meaningful and purposeful life. The young man is nonverbal and has a severe learning disability but no challenging behaviours.

He needs 24 hr support with all areas of his daily living activities and helps to access various activities in the community. There is a comprehensive, detailed support plan so that staff can work together to achieve the outcome-based goals set out.

What does this Personal Assistant / Support Worker job involve?

 

Please Note:

The work involves some or all the following tasks.  Some tasks will be daily, others weekly.  As my needs vary, it is important that you are flexible about the work and agree to undertake other reasonable tasks.

 

 Support with Personal care:

  • Dressing and undressing.
  • Showering.
  • Staying healthy by following guidelines I have agreed to, which cover diet, hydration, continence, my skin integrity, my legs/feet and exercise.

 

Support with eating and drinking:

  • It is important that you to follow my support plan when helping me with my meals.
  • I need support to help me sit at the table and eat my meals.
  • It is imperative that I keep hydrated and to do this you need to offer me a variety of drinks throughout the day.

 

Domestic Needs:

  • General domestic duties.
  • Preparation and cooking of meals and drinks and clearing up.
  • Shopping and/or assistance with shopping.
  • Assisting me to move around my home.
  • Managing stocks and supplies in my home.

 

General Assistance with Activities outside and Inside my home:

  • To help me and my family with my planned activity, inside or outside my home.
  • To Assist me into and out of my car when going out for activities.
  • To Assist with getting to and taking part in social activities e.g. Church every Sunday.
  • To support me away from home overnight and longer holidays
