We at  Robin Hood House are looking for passionate and compassionate Volunteer Befriender to join in Little Gaddesden. 

Benslow Care Homes is a family-run company, founded by Stephen and Susan McQuinn in 1982. They were born, grew up and still live in Hertfordshire. We are committed to providing good quality care and listen carefully to the view of people who use our services.

Every resident will be enabled to lead a happy, comfortable life amongst people who really care for them. This philosophy extends to our care team, family members, friends and the care environment.

• We provide refreshments for you
• Cover your travel costs for supporting residents on outings

• We match our volunteers to our residents with shared interests, abilities and time

• The volunteer role is unpaid but we are happy to train successful applicants and support them to develop further in Health and Social Care if they wish

• Just a coffee and chat could make a huge difference to a resident who has no family or friends visiting. 
• You become an extension of their external network. 
• You will provide companionship first and foremost
• Discuss common interests and hobbies, talk and listen to our residents.

• A compassionate and caring individual is required,
• We are looking for someone who would truly like to make a difference in our residents lives. 
• A good communicator and someone who has empathy and understanding for those diagnosed with dementia.

You could provide one hour per week to three days per week.  Your time and committment is the most important.
